Another cold gust of wind blew through the small house, as the door was opened and shut. “Thank you my beautiful Rose, for allowing me in.” She simply smiled in return. “I know I was not to meet with you until the morrow, but I had to come see you.” She put on tea and they began to talk further. She disclosed to him how she wanted to move away from there and build a reformation church. From there the conversation deepened into religion and God. “I know God is someone hard to believe in with all the evil that comes to you, but mostly is from bad decisions and thoughts of people.” They prayed together and she asked that all evil spirits be removed. Suddenly Christopher felt something he had never felt before. He felt real and accepted, not condemned.
“Dear
Rose, I had come knowing that you were the one for
me. I had come to escape the nuisances
around me, and you have made my heart even lighter than
yesterday.
This is something I could not have imagined,
for I thought it could not be.” She
blushed, looking away from him, then said, “Christopher Daniel…”
pausing, then
resuming being more comfortable, “Daniel, you have been more to me, on
each
occasion that I have seen you, and now being able to speak with you
than anyone
has been to me.” He came close to her,
and clasped both of her hands within both of his, “Beautiful, delicate
Rose, I
would like for you to marry me, and you cannot possibly say no.”
Smiling, showing her perfectly aligned
teeth, “Yes, Daniel. I will marry you.”
